How to limit memory needs?

These steps will help to lower the amount the memory needed for deconvolution:

  1. Switch off the undo system (Options menu).
  2. Reduce the size of the image (Crop tool). In particular, widefield images often contain many slices with blur.
  3. Switch off padding during the deconvolution of confocal images. This might produce edge artifacts, but it shouldn't be a problem on most confocal images.
  4. A theoretical PSF will be generated on-the-fly by the MLE and QMLE restoration methods. There's no need to create a theoretical PSF by hand.
