Huygens Titan

In 1655, Christiaan Huygens discovered a moon at 1,221,830 km from Saturn that was called Titan, also known as Saturn VI, which is often abbreviated as SVI(external link). Like in Scientific Volume Imaging.

The false-color view of Titan shown below was taken during the ESA/NASA Cassini-Huygens mission.

Rhea(external link) was the Titaness daughter of Uranus, the sky, and Gaia, the earth, in classical Greek mythology. She was known as "the mother of gods." In Greek mythology, the Titans(external link) were a race of powerful deities that ruled during the legendary Golden Age. Rhea is also the name of another Saturn's moon.

Huygens Titan is a new 3D image exploration package, currently under development by Scientific Volume Imaging, and part of the Huygens Software.
