FluVR

FluVR (Fluorescence Volume Renderer) is a visualization tool part of the Huygens Software that allows high speed and high quality visualization of volume data acquired with 3D microscopes or medical equipment like MRI or CT scanners. FluVR consists of a fast interactive renderer linked to a high quality ray tracing renderer. The fast renderer creates an environment were you can interactively manipulate the data leaving the ray tracing renderer to compute a physically realistic view of the scene.

The fast renderer obtains its speed by exploiting the capabilities of modern graphics hardware, in particular texture mapping. It can be used in combination with LCD shutter glasses to create stunning stereoscopic views.

The ray trace renderer is based on the Generalized Simulated Fluorescence Process (GSFP) algorithm. The SFP algorithm allows extreme flexibility in manipulating transparencies, colors and light sources and creates a wealth of space perception cues.

April 18 2005: SVI stops development of FluVR.

With the release of our new Volume Visualization tools, we decided to divert our development from FluVR. For customers who own a copy of FluVR with valid maintenance contract we will offer support until the end of the contract. They can also choose to upgrade to the new visualization and analysis options for free.
