This 3D image is used in many of our pages to illustrate the capabilities of the Huygens Software . This specimen is an isolated Rat Hepatocyte couplet, recorded by Dr. Permsin Marbet with a confocal microscope at the lab of Prof. Lukas Landmann, Department of Anatomy, University of Basel, Switzerland. Images used with permission.
The upper two images show two adhering liver cells stained with phalloidin for actin. The bottom two images show tubulin and dextran as a marker for endocytosis. The images on the left show original data. The images on the right show the restored data as deconvolved with Huygens Professional .
